Electrolysis usually involves a course of treatments that eventually permanently remove hair from specific areas of the face or body over a period of time.  The interval between treatments is usually four weeks to allow for the hair growth cycle.Most common areas for electrolysis are the Lip and chin though all areas of the body can be treated regardless of skin or hair colour.

Electrolysis involves the insertion of a very fine sterile, disposable needle into an individual hair follicle. A tiny amount of electrical energy is then discharged into the hair follicle. if the hair is in the correct stage of growth (anagen) phase the follicle will be destroyed by the electrical current and there will be no further hair growth from that follicle.
