Anti wrinkle injections or Botox is the brand name of this purified toxin used cosmetically to reduce lines and wrinkles. It has been used cosmetically for approximately twenty years.

Botox is  a medical treatment and is injected into specific muscles to treat frown lines, crows feet, glabellar lines  along with other areas of the face. It works by relaxing the contraction of muscles by blocking nerve impulses to the injected area. Botox can take 3-7 days for the effects to become apparent but can take up to two weeks to achieve overall results. Results last three to four months and needs to be repeated to achieve longer term results.

The procedure takes about ten to fifteen minutes to perform. There can be minor discomfort and the treated are may be tender, slightly swollen with some possible bruising post treatment.
